Kalang Retreat is on the Mornington Peninsula, close to cosmopolitan Melbourne, just over an hour’s drive from Melbourne’s CBD. Most will choose to travel to Somers by car, as this allows freedom to explore Westernport’s beaches, bushwalks and other places of significance on the peninsula. For those commuting by public transport, Kalang Retreat is also accessible by train and then bus.
By Train and Bus
Our suggestion: If commencing your trip at Flinders Street Station in Melbourne, take the Frankston train to the end of the line. Then catch the No.782 bus to get off at Tower Hill Road. There is a five-minute walk to Kalang from there.
Driving from Melbourne is easy. If you are coming from the north side of the city, find your way onto EastLink (City Link tolls apply) then veer off onto the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. Take Exit 19, the Balnarring turn-off (C784), follow the signs to Balnarring, and turn onto Sandy Point Road towards Somers.
